Tiger Gets Column, But Not His Game, Back

Golf Digest January 2010 coverImage by allaboutgeorge via Flickr
Would you read a golf tips column from a duffer who finished 78 in a field of 80 golfers in a recent pro tournament, finishing 18 over par?  Golf Digest hopes so.

Erstwhile columnist Tiger Woods resumes his gig in the September issue of Golf Digest. His column disappeared from the magazine in January 2010, after his sex scandal broke.  Woods will be responsible for writing a monthly column under his byline, but it will be up to subscribers to read Tiger's references to foursomes, playing through, putters and wood without tittering.

Tiger Woods' Handicap Lands TV Gig

Tiger WoodsImage via Wikipedia
Rachel Uchitel, a/k/a golfer/swinger Tiger Woods' "Mistress No. 1," has been offered a "special correspondent" slot on the syndicated tabloid tv entertainment show "Extra."

The Page Six column of The New York Post reports that the show's producers were impressed with Uchitel after she was interviewed by Mario Lopez (not to be confused with Charlie Rose). She is expected to cover nightlife, in which she has demonstrated some expertise.

First Ashley Dupre, former NY Gov. Elliot Spitzer's favorite escort, lands an advice column with The New York Post (see "TUOL" post 12/14/09), and now Uchitel scores a high-profile media job.  Wonder how long before Monster.com adds "floozy" and "trollop" to its career board options?

Golf Digest to Play Through Without Woods' Column

Golf Digest January 2010 coverImage by allaboutgeorge via Flickr
Golf Digest, the Conde Nast-owned monthly, has suspended the monthly instructional column written by the beleaguered Tiger Woods until the golf superstar returns from his self-imposed exile from the professional circuit.

Woods has an estimated $3 million exclusive long-term contract with Golf Digest. The magazine quietly acknowledged the column hiatus in an editorial note.  Woods' name will continue to appear on the magazine's masthead as Playing Editor. "TUOL" invites readers to make their own jokes--consider it a holiday gift.
