The newspaper industry's struggles have reached across the pond, as average daily sales last month of The Guardian fell below 200,000 for the first time, parent company Guardian News & Media reported.

Last week's Audit Bureau of Circulations report showed a 5.31 percent drop in month on month sales of The Guardian. The daily upped its daily cover price in January to 1.40 pound ($2.09). Since February 2012, The Guardian's daily circulation has plunged 10.37 percent.

It's unlikely that the price of fish & chips in London will be affected by the declining value of its wrapping.
