Illinois Expands Use of Cameras in the Courtroom

Image by myoldpostcards via FlickrNews media in Illinois, already permitted to use still and video cameras to cover criminal and civil proceedings  in the Illinois Supreme Court and Illinois Appellate Court, will now be allowed to record circuit court proceedings on a limited, experimental basis, the state Supreme Court has decided, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Proceedings in the state's 23 circuit courts may be recorded beginning next Tuesday, the Tribune article noted.
